Additional Storing Functions
You can setup how and where Dewesoft will store measured data during Setup, with additional options available in Settings.
Additional Storing functions are:
Marked Events
Markers are used to highlight areas of interest in the data for later review. Each marker creates an event.
User-made Markers
Dewesoft provides three ways of marking your data:
Keyboard events - Press the spacebar or the keyboard icon to mark an area of interest. A thin gray vertical line will appear on the data, marked with a K symbol, and the Keyboard event is added to the event box.
Notice events - Press n on your keyboard or the icon and then type some text in. The text input dialog box will appear. Once you click Add or press Enter, a thin gray vertical line with an N icon will appear on the data.

- Voice events - If you have a DirectX sound card that has been added in Settings - Devices, you can use a microphone to add comments to your recorded data. Hold the v key on your keyboard or click the microphone icon and then speak into the microphone. Release the key when done. The audio can be replayed later on in Analyze mode. This event is marked with the ” V ” icon and a thin vertical gray line.
Events can be added, edited or deleted in Analyze mode as well.
Internal markers
Similar to user created markers, DewesoftX itself has two markers:
start of recording marked with a B icon and a thin vertical red line
end of recording marked with the E icon and a thin vertical red line
Example - several marked events on one stored signal:

Freeze Mode
Sometimes, it is necessary to quickly analyze data during measurement, which is why Dewesoft offers Freeze mode. Most displays (except for FFT, Octave, Video, GPS) are stopped - frozen with the latest data.
Press the Freeze button to get the same analysis functions like in Analyze mode, including zoom and window zoom functions.

NOTE: You will only get a limited amount of data (smaller analysis time), restricted by a buffer memory in Dewesoft.
All functions like storing or trigger will still work in freeze mode. You only freeze the displays.
To run the displays again, simply click the Freeze button one more time.
