LGS FBG Plugin

Software installation

After installing DewesoftX software package, download additional LGS FBG plugin.

Copy the .dll file into DewesoftX(install folder)/Bin64/Addons.

In the end run DewesoftX.exe as Admin to register the plugin.

Adding LGS FBG device

Ethernet port set up

Before LGS FBG interrogator can be connected the network card IP address has to be configured to be configured to the same subnet as the device. Interrogator has the IP address of 192.168.0.23 by default . Since the network card has to have the same subnet as the device but a different IP address, you can set up the ethernet port to 192.168.0.100 for example.

Adding the device

To add LGS FBG plugin, first press Options and open Settings.

You will easily find the plugin if you type in the search bar ‘LGS FBG’. When found, just click on it.

Press on the LGS FBG icon and add a device. When you have a device connected press OK.

Sync settings

For now, LGS FBG interrogator can be only used in SoftSync.

Setup

Optical sensors

With the click on ‘Optical sensors’ you can add and edit different sensors that will be later used in ‘Sensor values’ tab of the LGS FBG plugin.

With + button you add a sensor and with - you remove it. Here you can edit the factors of the sensors as it can be seen in the image below.

FBG Values

In this tab, you can see current wavelengths of each channel and you can rename them. Channels that you want to measure, you have to put them on Use.

Sensor values

In the ‘Sensor values’ tab, you set up the sensors to the corresponding channels of the LGS FBG device. Per every channel, you can select which sensor is there. Under ‘Sensor ID’ you can select whatever sensor you have defiend in Optical sensors.

Spectra

In the Spectra tab, you can pre-check the working of the sensors per every channel. You can see the range where sensors are working and be sure that installation is ok.
