Real world signals can have various imperfections that make analysis harder - unexpected spikes, disturbances, irrelevant segments,… The Recorder Cleanup marker will help you refine time-domain data in order to obtain more accurate analysis. For example, in vibration analysis, removing transient spikes allows you to focus on steady operation, resulting in clearer insights and more reliable results.

NOTE: For information on using markers, applicable to all marker types, please refer to the Processing markers section of the Manual.

When you select unwanted parts of the signal, there are two options on how to remove them:

  • The cut out sections will be replaced by automatically interpolated values, maintaining a smooth signal.
  • The selected parts will be completely removed and the rest of the data segments will be stitched together.

No matter which one you choose, a new channel will be created, meaning that the original will remail fully preserved in the original measurement file. To select multiple regions within a single marker, hold the Shift key.
