Channel Settings

You can modify the following parameters:
- Used - Click to modify to Unused.
- Stored - Click to modify to Not stored.
- Channel name and Description - The description is used solely for personal reference and not for data computing.
- Color - Click the color bar to select another color.
- Range - Min. and Max. values.
- Format of displayed results - Choose from Fixed, Scientific, and Hexadecimal.
- Decimal places - Automatically set by default.
- Sample rate of this channel only - The data is acquired with full set bandwidth but is reduced in the device. Dewesoft software is only computing and saving at the reduced (selected) sample rate.
Range
By default, the Min and Max value fields are set to Automatic and Dewesoft displays the whole input range of the channel. If you have a wide input range which the signal doesn’t actually cover, you can customize the values.
Example:
A thermocouple amplifier has an input range from -30°C to 370 °C, but your measurement requires just a range from 20 °C to 40 °C. Set 20 °C for the Min value and 40 °C for the Max value.
To set the values back to Automatic range detection, right click the desired field and select Set to automatic from the list:

NOTE: This functionality is used only to define the standard range values for the display; it has no influence on the measured input range itself and can also be set to any other value in the displays.
